UBU celebrates its 29th anniversary

On 30 July 2019, UBU organized an event to celebrate its 29th anniversary. The activities at the event consisted of a Buddhist ceremony, the planting of 300 trees, and a blood donation.

On this special occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, the President, presided the Buddhist ceremony. A total of 68 monks were present for the religious observance.Assistant Professor Dr. Krit Sriworamas,Vice President for Physical and Environmental Affairs, presided the planting event and Mrs. Yupa Witoon, President of the Red Cross-Ubon Ratchathani Province, presided over the blood donation event.

The above-mentioned religious ceremony and voluntary activities were held to celebrate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s birthday on 28 July.

Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) was founded in 1987 as a regional campus of Khon Kaen University which offered two programs, Agriculture and Engineering. Then, it was officially established as a university by the Royal Charter in 1990. Currently, UBU offers 71 courses for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in the disciplines of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and Sciences and Technology. UBU has created approximately 39,000 graduates to serve and help the development of the country. For the 2019 academic year, there are about 17,300 students who are currently enrolled and are studying at the university.
