On 21 September 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, President of Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), together with university executives and staff, welcomed Dr. Alounxai Sounalath, President of the Provincial People’s Council, along with a delegation of executives, government officials, and members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Champasak Province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The delegation was welcomed at Grand Ballroom C, U-Place Hotel, Ubon Ratchathani University.
The visit aimed to provide an opportunity for UBU and Champasak Province to exchange perspectives and discuss potential areas of academic cooperation. Representatives from both sides exchanged views on opportunities to further develop collaboration in areas of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on human resource development, knowledge exchange, and the application of academic expertise to support local and regional development.
The visit provided an important opportunity to further strengthen the close relationship between Ubon Ratchathani University and Champasak Province, which share strong geographical, social, economic, and cultural ties, while opening further opportunities for academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and human resource development.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured UBU’s Pilot Plant, where they learned about the application of knowledge, technology, and innovation to product development and processing, as well as approaches to adding value to local raw materials and products. The Pilot Plant serves as a practical learning facility that helps connect university expertise with applications in production and entrepreneurship.
Ubon Ratchathani University remains committed to strengthening partnerships with institutions and organizations in neighboring countries, particularly across the Greater Mekong Subregion, and to utilizing education, research, innovation, and knowledge transfer as key mechanisms for supporting regional development and sustainably improving people’s quality of life.
