A team of students from the Faculty of Political Science, Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), competing under the name “UBU LUV COPA,” won first prize in the Policy Hackathon on AI for Policy & Government Service Innovation, a student competition focused on applying artificial intelligence (AI) to the design of innovative public policies and government services.
The team earned the top prize for their project, “STAY-ON AI 72,” receiving a trophy and 10,000 baht in prize money. The award was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Sirisak Laojankam, Dean of the College of Local Administration, Khon Kaen University, at COPA Smart Classroom 1, Khon Kaen University, on 28 August 2026.
“STAY-ON AI 72,” an Education Continuity Guarantee Policy, is a public policy and government service innovation proposal that harnesses AI to help prevent and reduce student dropout. The initiative applies a responsive government service design approach to identify and address students’ risks and needs promptly and systematically.
The UBU LUV COPA team comprised four students:
1. Mr. Chinnarat Ueakyen, fourth-year student, Department of Public Administration
2. Mr. Suppakrit Soisa, fourth-year student, Department of Public Administration
3. Mr. Hanumart Banjongsirikul, third-year student, Department of Politics and International Relations
4. Mr. Pitinun Titiwattanapong, second-year student, Department of Politics and International Relations
The team participated under the leadership of Dr. Siriporn Jantanasakulwong, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, with Dr. Warut Ingkathaworawong, Deputy Dean for Administration and Organizational Development, serving jointly as team managers. Mr. Titikornrat Pattasiriphoowadol, Head of the Office of the Faculty Secretariat, served as the team advisor and supervisor.
This achievement marks another significant accomplishment for students of the Faculty of Political Science and demonstrates their commitment to harnessing AI to develop practical policies and innovations for society. It also reflects the students’ ability to integrate knowledge of political science and public administration with artificial intelligence (AI) to develop innovative policy solutions that address contemporary social challenges and the evolving needs of public administration in the digital era.
