On August 13, 2026, the Division of International Affairs, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), organized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Ubon Ratchathani Universityand the College of Science, National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan. The MOU aims to promote excellence in education, research, and innovation, while creating opportunities for students and academic and administrative staff to engage in international exchange, knowledge sharing, and collaborative research.

Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, President of Ubon Ratchathani University, presided over the ceremony and warmly welcomed the delegation from Taiwan, led by Professor Jyh-Tsung Lee, Dean of the College of Science, NSYSU. University executives, faculty members, and representatives from both institutions also attended the ceremony as witnesses to the signing.

Following the MOU signing, representatives from both institutions participated in an academic discussion to explore opportunities for strengthening and expanding future collaboration. Key areas discussed included:

• Joint Program Development: Exploring opportunities to develop modern academic programs that meet international standards and respond to emerging global needs.
• Student Exchange: Creating opportunities for students to gain international academic and cultural experiences through exchange programs, particularly in Taiwan, which has become an increasingly popular destination for international study and exchange.
• Staff Exchange: Promoting the exchange of faculty and staff to facilitate knowledge and expertise sharing and to strengthen international research networks.

At the conclusion of the event, Assistant Professor Dr. Oranuch Puangsuk, Assistant to the President for International Relations and Education, expressed her appreciation to the NSYSU delegation and reaffirmed her confidence that the MOU would serve as an important milestone in building a strong and sustainable partnership between the two institutions.

The collaboration is expected to pave the way for concrete joint activities in education, research, student and staff mobility, and innovation, further strengthening the international engagement of both Ubon Ratchathani University and National Sun Yat-sen University.
