UBU Welcomes Exchange Students from China and Japan, Strengthening Academic Cooperation and Cross-Cultural Exchange

On 22 July 2026, the Division of International Affairs, Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), led by Assistant Professor Dr. Oranuch Puangsuk, Assistant to the President for International Relations and Education, joined university executives, staff, and students in welcoming exchange students from Jingchu University of Technology and Chengdu University in the People’s Republic of China, as well as Toyohashi University of Technology in Japan. A welcome and orientation programwas held in the Warin Chamrap Meeting Room, Office of the President Building 2, Ubon Ratchathani University.

The program was designed to prepare the exchange students for their academic experience at UBU. It provided an introduction to the University, campus life, and essential information relating to study and daily life in Ubon Ratchathani Province. The program also gave the students opportunities to build friendships and exchange experiences with UBU students.

Following the orientation, students and faculty members from Jingchu University of Technology will participate in academic exchange activities at the UBU Business School. Students from Chengdu University will undertake their exchange program at the Faculty of Education, while students from Toyohashi University of Technology will participate in exchange activities at the Faculty of Science. 

These exchange programs are conducted under Memoranda of Understanding between Ubon Ratchathani University and its partner institutions. They are intended to promote academic cooperation, knowledge exchange, student development, and intercultural learning, while contributing to the University’s ongoing internationalization efforts. 

The exchange students from the three institutions will study and participate in activities at Ubon Ratchathani University from July to August 2026. The programs are expected to enhance their learning experiences in an international environment, strengthen intercultural communication skills, and foster sustainable academic networks among higher education institutions. 

Ubon Ratchathani University remains committed to advancing international academic cooperation by providing students and staff with opportunities to learn in culturally diverse environments, strengthening partnerships with universities worldwide, and supporting the development of graduates with global competencies. These efforts align with the University’s internationalization strategy and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
