On 9 July 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, President of Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), designated Mr. Saharat Notaya, Dean of the Faculty of Law, to represent the University at the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hanoi Law University (HLU), Vietnam.

The UBU delegation was warmly welcomed by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Vice President of Hanoi Law University, together with the University's leadership and faculty members, and staff. Following the signing ceremony, representatives from both institutions held discussions on future areas of collaboration under the MOU framework. The partnership will focus on student and faculty exchanges, joint legal research, co-publication of scholarly work in each institution's academic journals, and the co-organization of international academic conferences in the coming years.

Founded in 1979, Hanoi Law University (HLU) operates under the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam and is located in the heart of Hanoi. The University currently has three campuses and employs more than 550 academic and administrative staff. HLU offers six undergraduate programs, including a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) program taught in English, 14 master's degree programs, and 7 doctoral programs. It currently enrolls approximately 13,500 undergraduate students and more than 5,000 graduate students.

Following the signing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tu, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation at HLU, led the UBU Faculty of Law delegation on a campus tour. The delegation visited key facilities, including the University Library, the Hall of Honor, which showcases the history of HLU and the distinguished individuals who have contributed to its development, and the Law Clinic.

During the visit, both institutions also discussed future collaboration between HLU's Law Clinic and the Legal Information Dissemination and Public Legal Assistance Center of the Faculty of Law, Ubon Ratchathani University. As both units share a common mission of enhancing students' professional competencies through practical legal training and experiential learning beyond the classroom, the discussions provided a strong foundation for future joint initiatives, knowledge exchange, and collaborative academic activities.

This partnership represents another significant milestone for the Faculty of Law, Ubon Ratchathani University, in expanding its international academic network. By promoting the exchange of students, faculty members, and knowledge, this collaboration will strengthen legal education, enhance research capacity, and contribute to the development of globally competent legal professionals prepared to address the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world.
