UBU Welcomes International Faculty Members and Students under the 2026 Academic Exchange Program

On 16 June 2026, the Division of International Affairs organized a welcoming ceremony for international faculty members and students participating in the Academic Exchange Program for Fiscal Year 2026 at Phibun Mangsahan Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, President Office Building 2, Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU). The ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Charuwan Thanawiroon, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who together with university administrators, faculty members, staff, and students, extended a warm welcome to the visiting participants.

The program is part of the implementation of Ubon Ratchathani University’s Five-Year Strategic Plan (2025–2029), which emphasizes the establishment of strategic partnerships and the expansion of academic collaboration with leading international institutions. Through these initiatives, the university seeks to strengthen academic excellence, enhance research capacity, and foster the international competencies of its students and personnel in a sustainable manner. 

This year, the program welcomed faculty members and students from UBU’s partner universities. A delegation of five participants from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, United States, is participating in activities from 12 June to 17 July 2026. In addition, five participants from Champasack University, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, are participating in academic activities hosted by the Faculty of Law from 14 to 20 June 2026.

The Academic Exchange Program serves as an important mechanism for advancing the internationalization of Ubon Ratchathani University. It provides valuable opportunities for students and university personnel to exchange knowledge and academic experiences while fostering intercultural understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. Through such engagement, the programcontributes to the expansion of international academic cooperation and supports UBU’s aspiration to become a leading higher education institution in the region.
