Ubon Ratchathani University extends its congratulations to the “Anti-Slip Team,” comprising Miss Wilailak Khaikham and Miss Pitchapa Siriban, students from the Occupational Health and Safety program, Faculty of Science. The team, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Pongthorn Saengchoo and research advisors, achieved Second Runner-Up (Gold Medal Level), receiving a cash prize of 6,000 baht, along with a trophy and certificate.
The award-winning project, “Verde Guard: Anti-Slip Mat from Alternative Materials,” is an innovative product developed from natural rubber and agricultural waste materials. The design aims to reduce slip-and-fall accidents in high-risk areas while addressing key requirements in safety, durability, and sustainability. The product is particularly suitable for organizations that prioritize safety standards and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) policies.
The team received this recognition at the Higher Education Rubber Product Innovation Competition, held as part of the Rubber and Agriculture Fair: Andaman Charm 2026, from 8–12 April 2026. The event was organized by the Trang Provincial Education Office and related agencies. The award ceremony took place on Thursday, 9 April 2026, at His Majesty the King's 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary Convention Center, Prince of Songkla University, Trang Campus, Trang Province.
This achievement reflects the strong potential of UBU students in developing innovative solutions that integrate scientific knowledge with practical applications, contributing to workplace safety and sustainable development.
