UBU Hosts Agricultural Fair 2026

Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), through the Faculty of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, educational institutions, local administrative organizations, and private sector partners, is organizing the “Agricultural Fair 2026.” The event is held under the theme “Transforming Southern Isan Agriculture through Innovation and Technology.” It is scheduled to take place from 6–15 February 2026, at the Faculty of Agriculture, Ubon Ratchathani University.

The opening ceremony was held on 6 February 2026. The ceremony featured welcoming remarks by Mr. Pusit Noisopakul, Vice Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province. Mrs. Suwannee Srisuwan, Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, presided over the event, while Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, President of Ubon Ratchathani University, delivered the official report.

The primary objectives of the fair are to disseminate knowledge and showcase advancements in agricultural technology and innovation, promote improvements in the quality of life for both rural and urban communities, and contribute to regional and national economic development. The event is designed to benefit farmers, students, youth, and the general public by providing access to up-to-date information, practical demonstrations, and a wide range of educational and professional development activities. 

According to Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, the fair features extensive exhibitions presenting innovations in agricultural technology, value-added processing, and the promotion of healthy living through safe agricultural products. The event also aims to encourage career development and entrepreneurship, particularly among university students, by fostering start-up initiatives and serving as a model for income generation and skill development.

In addition, the fair hosts diverse agricultural activities intended to enhance production standards, including live demonstrations, hands-on training workshops, and professional skill-building sessions to strengthen competitiveness within the agricultural sector. The program further supports the visibility of farmer groups, promotes the development of community enterprises, and raises public awareness of the critical role of agriculture in national development alongside human capital and knowledge advancement through experiential learning.

A wide array of exhibitions and competitions is also featured, including showcases of plant and livestock production technologies from both public and private sectors, agricultural machinery displays, the Nil Ubon beef cattle competition, food processing contests, and the sale of ornamental plants and seedlings from numerous participating farmer groups and vendors. The Agricultural Fair 2026 is expected to serve as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and sustainable agricultural advancement in the region.
