On 22 November 2025, Professor Dr. Tuantong Jutagate, Vice President for Research and Innovations at Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), together with the executive team—including Assistant Professor Dr. Jittra Singthong, Assistant to the President for Academic Services and Research Standards; Assistant Professor Dr. Oranuch Puangsuk, Assistant to the President for International Relations and Education; and Assistant Professor Dr. Piyanat Soikham, Assistant to the President for Marketing—warmly welcomed a high-level delegation from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The delegation comprised intellectual property experts from seven countries—Chile, Hong Kong, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Türkiye, and Thailand —along with representatives from the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). The visit aimed to exchange knowledge and best practices in intellectual property management, innovation development, and technology transfer. The program was facilitated by the UBU Science Park and the Office for Research Promotion and Management and took place at Huankamnan Cafe, Ubon Ratchathani University.
Professor Dr. Tuantong noted that this visit marks an important beginning for strengthening long-term collaboration between Ubon Ratchathani University, NSTDA, and WIPO. As a regional strategic partner, UBU plays a key role in supporting the advancement of the Association of Technology Transfer Professionals of Thailand and is instrumental in Thailand’s national efforts toward membership in the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals (ATTP). This occasion provided a valuable opportunity for UBU to engage in discussions on joint research, innovation development, intellectual property management, and technology transfer with WIPO delegates.
This collaboration is expected to foster future joint initiatives in research and development, strengthen innovation capacity, and support sustainable development through meaningful and long-term cooperation.
