Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) congratulates the Civil Engineering students whose “Lightweight Concrete Team” won First Prize in “the 18th Structural Lightweight Concrete Competition”, held on 21–22 August 2025 at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, Wang Klai Kangwon Campus, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
The winning team consisted of third-year Civil Engineering students: 1) Miss Tassaneewan Supmoon, 2) Mr. Pitakpong Pengthong, 3) Mr. Supawit Khantee, and 4) Mr. Sorayut Buasong. They were guided by Mr. Supat Jarukamol (Facilitator), with Assistant Professor Thanabhorn Thaweewut (Head of Project) and Dr. Chardphoom Virattanajan (Advisor).
The UBU team not only secured the national championship but also set a new record for compressive strength, outperforming 27 competing universities across Thailand. This victory marks the fifth time UBU has won the Royal Trophy in this prestigious competition, following previous successes in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2023.
This achievement highlights the strong academic foundation and practical skills of UBU’s Civil Engineering students, who continue to demonstrate their ability to integrate knowledge, innovation, and teamwork at the national level.
