On June 8, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, the President of Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), along with university executives and faculty members from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and the Faculty of Education, extended a warm welcome to Associate Professor Dr. Troy L. Cox, Associate Director of Research and Language Proficiency Services at the Center for Language Studies and Associate Professor of Linguistics at Brigham Young University (BYU), USA.
In the afternoon, Dr. Cox served as the keynote speaker at a professional development workshop entitled “Moving from the WHAT to the HOW: Integrating Proficiency in a Language Classroom.” The event was held from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Sri Mueang Mai Meeting Room, Office of the President Building 2, UBU.
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants' pedagogical competencies and deepen their understanding of effectively incorporating language proficiency standards into instructional practices. The session emphasized the design of student-centered learning environments that foster the holistic development and encourage learners to achieve targeted educational outcomes.
The event was attended by more than 40 lecturers from UBU and teachers from local schools in Ubon Ratchathani, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing English language education through evidence-based and proficiency-oriented teaching approaches.
