On 23 May 2025, a delegation from Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), led by Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, President of UBU, visited Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to participate in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony and to discuss future academic collaboration.
At 9:30 a.m., the UBU delegation was received by Professor Dr. Hazri Jamil, Dean of the School of Languages, Literacies, and Translation, along with members of the USM executive team. The visit included a campus tour and a preliminary discussion on potential areas of academic cooperation.
At 2:30 p.m., the MOU signing ceremony between UBU and USM was held, with Professor Gs. Dato’ Dr. Narimah Samat, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, signing on behalf of USM (with the USM President having signed the document in advance).
Subsequently, at 3:00 p.m., the UBU delegation engaged in a focused discussion with the Deans and representatives of four USM units: the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the School of Distance Education, the School of Social Sciences, and the International Mobility and Collaboration Centre (IMCC).
Key areas of potential collaboration include:
1. Joint research projects and researcher exchanges with the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
2. Collaborative development of a Master's program in Governance with the School of Social Sciences.
3. Curriculum co-development and student exchange opportunities through the Intensive English Program with the School of Languages, Literacies, and Translation, USM.
The UBU delegation included:

6. Ms. Patcharin Jongjai, Acting Head of Office of International Relations and Education
This visit marks a significant step in expanding UBU’s international academic network and fostering partnerships in curriculum development, student and staff exchange, and collaborative research initiatives.
