Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) is sponsoring the annual “The 16th UBU Agricultural Fair 2025”. The Faculty of Agriculture of Ubon Ratchathani University, along with the government and private sectors such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, educational institutions, the Ministry of Public Health, and local government organizations, among other sectors, organized this event with the theme, “Innovative Agriculture for Value Addition and Sustainable Economic Development”. On this occasion, Dr. Namanita Klabbankoh, Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, presided over the opening ceremony on February 7, 2024. Lieutenant Sornmongkol Mongklasiri, Deputy Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, delivered a welcome speech during the ceremony. Dr. Narintorn Boonbrahm, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, presented tokens of appreciation, and Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, the President of Ubon Ratchathani University, reported on the proceedings.
The primary objectives of this event aim to benefit farmers, students, and the general public while showcasing UBU’s contributions to education, research, community service, and cultural preservation. The event includes agricultural demonstrations and training sessions to equip farmers with modern agricultural skills that enhance competitiveness. Additionally, the fair will feature agricultural product competitions to incentivize farmers to improve product quality, support farmer groups, promote community enterprises, and highlight the significance of agriculture in national development. Another key objective is to foster entrepreneurial skills among students, preparing them for future careers in the agricultural sector.
UBU Agricultural Fair 2025 will feature 3 primary exhibition areas.
1. Academic Showcases include highlighting key research projects from the Faculty of Agriculture, academic exhibitions from 5 departments within the Faculty of Agriculture, exhibitions from other faculties at UBU, and collaborative academic exhibitions from external government agencies.
2. Modern Agricultural Technology Exhibitions include showcasing cutting-edge agricultural technologies, exhibitions, and sales booths from leading private sector companies.
3. Community Enterprise and Small Business Showcases include exhibitions and sales of products from community enterprises and local entrepreneurs
Activities consist of agricultural and educational exhibitions, modern agricultural practices, agricultural products,and agricultural skill and music contests, including shopping for various products from many stores. The event is being held from February 7-16, 2025 at Ubon Ratchathani University.
