On January 30, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, the President of Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), along with the university's executive board members, extended a warm welcome to Mr. TANIMURA Takamasa, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, and other distinguished representatives from various Japanese organizations and institutions. The delegation visited the Office of the President, UBU, to explore potential avenues for academic collaboration between UBU and Japanese institutions.
In the afternoon session, the 18th Japan Education Fair was held at the His Majesty’s 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary Commemorative Building, UBU. Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha delivered a welcoming address, followed by an opening speech by Mr. TANIMURA Takamasa, who presided over the opening ceremony.
The exhibition featured the participation of several esteemed organizations and institutions, including the Old Japanese Students' Association (OJSAT), Japan Foundation Bangkok, Fukui University of Technology, Kyoto University, Kyoto University of Advanced Science, Study in Japan for ASEAN/Okayama University, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Tokai University, Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), and the Embassy of Japan (Japanese Government [MEXT] Scholarship). The event attracted over 200 attendees, including students from secondary schools, representatives from organizations in Ubon Ratchathani Province, and UBU students.
This event represents a significant step toward strengthening academic cooperation between UBU and Japanese universities and educational institutions. Furthermore, it provides a valuable opportunity for Thai students to gain insights into international education opportunities and prepare for future academic pursuits abroad.
