His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn graciously appointed General Dapong Rattanasuwan, Privy Councilor, as his representative to preside over the 2024 Outstanding Academic Achievement Medal awarding ceremony, organized by the Engineering Institute of Thailand under His Majesty the King’s Patronage (EIT). The ceremony was held at the Sahathai Samakom Pavilion in the Grand Palace on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. A total of 53 engineering students from universities across the nation were recognized for their exemplary academic achievements.
Among the distinguished recipients was Mr. Jirapat Santha, a fourth-year student in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering, Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU). With an impressive GPA of 3.97, he ranked first in his faculty and was awarded this prestigious medal.
Mr. Jirapat Santha shared his deep pride and gratitude for receiving the honor. After earning his Vocational Education Diploma, he chose to pursue higher education at UBU, a renowned institution near his hometown, to reduce financial burdens on his family. His academic journey was marked by significant challenges, particularly in adapting to university-level courses requiring strong foundations in science and mathematics. However, through unwavering dedication and consistent effort, he excelled academically, maintaining a GPA of 3.97.
Additionally, Mr. Jirapat received annual scholarships of 30,000 baht from the Ajinomoto Foundation. Beyond his academic achievements, Mr. Jirapat actively participated in various activities organized by the faculty and university, gaining invaluable experience.
Assistant Professor Dr. Mongkol Pusayatanont, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UBU, praised Mr. Jirapat for his exceptional commitment and congratulated him on this significant milestone.
