On November 14-15, 2024, Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) hosted the Loy Krathong Festival 2024 at 70 Rai Pond, Ubon Ratchathani University. The event was organized by the UBU Student Club in collaboration with the Office of Student Development and local government agencies.
The festival was presided over by Mr. Udomsak Nualsiri, Sheriff of Warin Chamrap, Ubon Ratchathani Province with a welcome speech delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, the President of Ubon Ratchathani University. The event offered a variety of cultural and recreational activities, including a Beauty Queen contest (Nang Nopphamat), a Krathong contest, a traditional parade, and a concert celebrating the floating of Krathongs. Attendees also enjoyed street food stalls and local markets, adding a vibrant and festive atmosphere to the celebration.
The event was honored by UBU’s executive board, faculty members, and representatives from internal departments. The event was made possible through generous sponsorship and partnerships, highlighting UBU's commitment to preserving and celebrating Thai traditions while fostering community engagement.
