On August 19, 2024, the Faculty of Science at Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) celebrated National Science Day 2024 with the theme "Youth Innovations for a Sustainable Green Economy. " The event was held at the His Majesty's 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary Commemorating Building and the Faculty of Science. Mr. Detdanai Sarapho, a student from the Occupational Health and Safety Program, honored His Majesty King Mongkut (King Rama IV), revered as the Father of Science in Thailand. Associate Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, the President of Ubon Ratchathani University, presided over the opening ceremony, with Professor Dr. Siriporn Jungsuttiwong, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, delivering remarks.
Highlights included a range of activities such as exhibitions, scientific instrument displays, science shows, drawing and science project contests, and a science quiz competition. The event sought to highlight the importance of science and technology education, cultivate enthusiasm among the youth, and underscore the role of science and technology in national development while paying tribute to His Majesty King Mongkut by reflecting Ubon Ratchathani University's commitment to improving societal quality of life through academic excellence and community engagement.
