The Agricultural Student Club organized a creative welcoming activity for new agricultural students called "Mue Riaw Ro Kiew Ruang 2024 (Phase 1: Planting)" on July 14, 2024. The event occurred on a 4-rai agricultural plot, involving over 300 students and staff. Dr. Narintorn Boonbrahm, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, presided over the opening ceremony, and Ms. Kesorn Khamthawon, a third-year agronomy student, presented a report.
Ms. Kesorn Khamthawon, the head of the project, explained that this annual activity is a tradition passed down through generations and consists of two phases: planting and harvesting. The event aimed to welcome first-year students to the Faculty of Agriculture and teach them farming procedures such as soil preparation, seedling preparation, rice planting, and plant cultivation until the harvest. Additionally, it aimed to build strong relationships between seniors and juniors and promote collaboration with the faculty. The harvested rice would be reserved for the graduate homecoming and support activities for first-year agricultural students in the upcoming year.
This event is a creative and agricultural way to welcome new students, aligning with the identity of UBU students: "Creativity, Unity, and Good Conscience towards Society."
