On June 29, 2024, the Office of International Relations at Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) organized a training session at the Office of the President to enhance the English skills of academic staff. The training, titled "English as an International Language (Series II)," was conducted by Associate Professor Dr. Betsy Gilliland from the Department of Second Language Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA.
The training focused on providing international teaching knowledge and techniques, including classroom management development and planning. It attracted lecturers from various faculties, such as the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Political Science, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Faculty of Applied Arts and Architecture, and Business School. This training was particularly relevant given UBU's current situation, as the number of international students has steadily increased. UBU recognizes the importance of developing the English skills of all staff to prepare students to meet high standards.
