UBU Attended the 75th Anniversary of the Republic Day of India

On January 26, 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Piyanat Soikham, Assistant to the President for Organizational Communication and Social Engagement, and Dr. Titipol Phakdeewanich, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, represented Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) at the celebration of the 75th Republic Day of India held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok.
 
During the event, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, and Minister of Culture, Mr. Sermsak Pongpanit, extended their congratulations to H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Thailand. The gathering included various dignitaries such as government officials, military personnel, members of the diplomatic corps, academia, and representatives from the private sector.
 
Thailand and India have maintained diplomatic ties for 77 years, which have been marked by shared connections in religion and culture. Thailand consistently advocates for collaboration with India across various dimensions, with a particular emphasis on trade. The governments of both nations share common goals and visions to enhance trade, encourage investment, facilitate cultural exchanges between their citizens, and promote tourism. In this regard, H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh revealed that in 2023, Thailand welcomed over 1,600,000 tourists from India.
 
The mutual goal is to increase trade and investment through free trade mechanisms within the ASEAN framework, fostering mutual benefits and strengthening the relationship between Thailand and India with the aim of strengthening the economies of both countries in the future.
