On December 5, 2023, the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings announced that UBU had secured the 20th position nationally and ranked 307th out of 1,183 universities worldwide. The assessment criteria for the ranking included Setting and Infrastructure, Energy and Climate Change, Waste, Water, Transportation, and Education and Research.
Assistant Professor Dr. Thanudkij Chareerat, Assistant to the President for Infrastructure Development and Landscaping, highlighted that UBU began participating in this ranking initiative in 2020 to become a green institution that prioritizes environmental friendliness.
UBU is committed to becoming a green university and has a strategic endeavor that encompasses four key objectives:
1. Cultivating a uniquely beautiful landscape
2. Developing infrastructure and public utilities to meet the needs of the staff and students
3. Establishing readiness for green practices and environmental friendliness
4. Creating a university environment that prioritizes safety for life and property, free from vices.
