The Loy Krathong Festival 2023 was held on November 27, 2023, at 70 Rai Pond, Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), by the UBU Student Club in partnership with the Office of Student Development and local government sectors. The event was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Preecha Boonchoong, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, with Mr. Nattawut Srichana of the UBU Student Club delivering a comprehensive report. The festival aimed to allow UBU students to participate in and continue the Loy Krathong festival's traditions, which helped establish a positive relationship between the university and the local community. The event featured various activities, including a Kratong contest and a concert incorporating the floating Kratong tradition. The venue also had street food stalls and markets for attendees to enjoy. The opening ceremony was attended by the UBU executive board, along with faculty and internal departments of UBU, and was generously sponsored.
