November 9 - 10, 2023, the Office of Research Management and Support, Academic Services, and Art and Culture Conservation at Ubon Ratchathani University organized a workshop entitled “Technology for Growing Organic Cherry Tomatoes in Greenhouses as a Farming Profession” for 60 participants, at the UBU Organic Smart Farm. The participants were farmers around UBU and other locales. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Tuantong Jutagate, Vice President for Research and Innovations, extended a warm welcome to the participants, and Associate Professor Dr. Boonsong Ekapong and Mr. Samakkee Nikomrak facilitated the workshop.

Participants attended lectures and practical workshops, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of organic cherry tomato cultivation, including soil preparation, planting, and care at each growth stage.

The workshop highlighted the renowned cherry tomato variety, "Ubon Sweet," developed by Associate Professor Dr. Boonsong Ekapong, a former lecturer and researcher at Ubon Ratchathani University who designed this specific variety of tomato to thrive in the climate of Ubon Ratchathani Province.

The primary goal of the workshop was to encourage participants, especially those within the UBU community, to apply their acquired knowledge in organic farming through technology. This initiative aligns with UBU's mission: to transfer knowledge and technology through academic services to meet the needs of recipients, society, and industry.
