On September 6, 2023, Professor Dr. Chomchin Chantaraskul, Chairman of the UBU Council along with Associate Professor Dr. Chawalit Thinvongpituk, Vice President for Research, Innovations, and Academic Services welcomed Dr. Gijs Theunissen, DVM, Agricultural Counsellor from the Embassy of the Netherlands in Thailand along with the executive board of the National Science and Technology Development Agency at the UBU Pilot Plant. The objective of this meeting was to exchange innovative technology and other sciences to raise the efficiency of agricultural production and foster marketing cooperation in the future. The guests visited the Pilot Plant, the Farmer Potential Development Center, the Community Enterprise, SME and the Startup Entrepreneur, the UBU Science Park. On this occasion, participants from the “BIMSTEC’s Capacity Building for Improving the Quality of Life through Creative Economy and ECG Economy Model” program which included representatives from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, also visited the UBU Pilot Plant. 

 

Moreover, Dr. Gijs Theunissen, DVM, and his team also visited the UBU Smart Farm where they were welcomed by Dr. Narintorn Boonbrahm, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and a part of the researcher team. This farming innovation could also improve the area's economy and quality of life.
