From August 17-18, 2023, the Faculty of Science sponsored “National Science Day 2023” under the motto “Innovation to Address Climate Change for a Sustainable Future.” Assistant Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, Ubon Ratchathani University President, presided over the opening ceremony, and the Faculty of Science Dean Professor Dr. Siriporn Jungsuttiwong commented on the activities. This exhibition honors those who have enhanced the university’s reputation through their demonstrated success in science competitions. Other activities included a scientific instrument silks competition (at the high school level), a science show contest, a drawing contest, a science project contest, and a science quiz competition.   

August 18th is National Science Day in Thailand, commemorating King Mongkut's (King Rama IV) prediction and observation of a total solar eclipse in 1868. He has been proclaimed the “Father of Science in Thailand” for this and more.
