A project entitled “Promoting the Value and Enhancement of Local Wisdom for Candle Creation in Ubon Ratchathani,” hosted by Ubon Ratchathani University, received a silver award at the Thailand Research Expo 2023. The event was held at the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Bangkok, from August 7-11, 2023, with more than 500 projects submitted at the expo. Associate Professor Dr. Chawalit Thinvongpituk, Vice President for Research, Innovations, and Academic Services, served as the representative of Ubon Ratchathani University and received the award from Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Director of the National Research Council of Thailand. The award consisted of a trophy from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and a monetary award of 50,000 baht. 

 

This project is a cooperation between Ubon Ratchathani University and supporters of candle creation. Candle creation goes beyond fulfilling religious and traditional goals by creating contemporary innovations such as edible candles, candle covers, and study candles. The project will integrate and link knowledge for the country's development.
