The Faculty of Law Visited Champasack University, Laos

From May 14-16, 2023, the Faculty of Law, Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU), sent 7 Faculty of Law student representatives to Champasack University, Laos. The exchange program was held from 14-20 May 2023 at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at Champasack University and enhanced student experience in jurisprudence theory and practice.
 
On this occasion, Dr. Nitilak Kaewchandee, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, and his team were honored by the President of Champasack University, Dr. Bounmy Phonesavanh, to discuss the possibility of collaboration in 2023-2024. 
 
Dr Nitilak Kaewchandee and his team joined the welcome ceremony as Ms. Phatsany Phovah, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Champasack University presided over the ceremony. On this occasion, Champasack University will send students to UBU from June 1-24, 2023. In the afternoon, both parties discussed the possibility of a learning and teaching management plan for the legal system and judicial administration of countries in the Mekong sub-region, a subject for the Bachelor of Law Program at UBU, which both parties collaboratively developed. On this matter, Champasack Univerity was glad to send full-time professors and coordinate with experts to offer lectures to law students at UBU during November 2023 (Semester 2 of the academic year 2023). The titles were as follows:
 
  • The legal system and judicial administration of Vietnam, a lecture by Mr. Sangkeo Sengsuly, Head of the Office of Southern People's Prosecutor, and Mr. Vixay Kedchane, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Champasack University
  • The legal system and judicial administration of Lao, a lecture by Mr. Arnunsin Yatar and Mr. Khampha Khounsana, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Champasack University.
 
This is considered a breakthrough in academic cooperation between the two institutions and an opportunity for the lecturers to exchange views as the students enhance their knowledge and experience by learning legal practices, opening a new world for collaborative work.
