UBU congratulates the Rubber UBU Gen 14 team and their advisor who were selected as 1 of 5 teams to receive 100,000 baht for product prototype development after pitching the idea for a project entitled, “Smart Natural Rubber Hackathon”. This was hosted in collaboration with the Rubber Authority of Thailand and the Science Park, Prince Songkhla University, from July 9-10, 2022, at the Crystal Hotel, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. 

 

The product is a latex cup that can automatically capture latex. Team members consisted of 1) Mr. Narongdet Dapa, 2) Mr. Thanakorn Rubsri, 3) Mr. Amornsak Suebsin, 4) Ms. Chamaipon Suriya, 5) Ms. Sakultip Yoosorn, all third-year students from the Rubber and Polymer Technology program in the Department of Chemistry. This team will join the next competition in an event called “Demo Day” in November 2022. This is another source of UBU pride, enhancing the reputation of the Faculty of Science and the university on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of UBU's establishment.
