Mr Meechai Taesujariya of the UBU Business Promotion Committee, Awarded “The Best of the Best” at the “Royal Fabric Contest in the Princess Sirivannavari Pattern”

Ubon Ratchathani University congratulates Mr. Meechai Taesujariya, of the UBU Business Promotion Committee, for “The Best of the Best” award at the “Royal Fabric Contest in the Princess Sirivannavari Pattern”. In this event, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya gave the award to the winners of the contest and observed the exhibition of award-winning royal fabrics at the fashion show entitled, "Princess Siriwannavari Pattern Fabric” in OTOP MIDYEAR 2021 CELEBRATE THAI CULTURE, hosted by the Community Development Department (CDD) in Thailand’s Interior Ministry and by the National Council of Women of Thailand under The Royal Patronage of Her Majesty The Queen, on the 7th floor of True Icon Hall at the ICONSIAM shopping center, on October 30, 2021. This event was provided for supporting the Pha Thai Sai Sanook Project (“Comfortable Thai Fabrics”). 
 
There were 3,214 cloths from entrepreneurs and weavers submitted for the royal fabric pattern contest with 50 cloths selected at the national level from among 46 participants. Mr. Meechai Taesujariya from the Baan Kampoon weaving fabric store, was the winner and awarded “The Best of the Best”. He is also on the UBU Business Promotion Committee and expressed his gratitude for this award. The award-winning fabric involved 5 weaving techniques. This is another source of pride for the people of Ubon Ratchathani and Ubon Ratchathani University in building a reputation for textiles through advanced weaving techniques to foster Ubon Ratchathani’s unique and beautiful culture of world-renowned woven fabrics.
