UBU congratulated the UBU Green Club on attaining a gold level. This club has been awarded the prize for the last two years (2020-2021). On 5 August 2021, on behalf of UBU, the Green Club was awarded the Gold level by the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion (DEQP). The projects are named “Green Cone” and “Plogging”. “Green Cone” was composed of fertilizer made from organic waste. There were forty families from the community around the university participating in this project which reduced organic waste by 967.55 kilograms by turning it into fertilizer. “Plogging” was running or walking and collecting waste on the university paths. There were more than four hundred people joining the activity and plastic waste was reduced by 78.40 kilograms. “Plogging” was done as part of the “new normal”. Participants were asked to walk or run separately and record the distance via an application and send photos to the project recorder. Mr. Ratchawut Kotelakum, a biology lecturer in the Faculty of Science, served as the advisor for the club.

On this occasion, UBU would like to congratulate the UBU Green Club for enhancing the reputation of the university on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of Ubon Ratchathani University’s founding. This is a small measure of our success in upholding the UBU mission to be “A Public University for the People”.
