UBU Congratulates Two Lecturers from the Faculty of Liberal Arts as National Translators for Literature in ASEAN (Lao and Khmer)

UBU congratulates Associate Professor Dr. Chanchai Khongphianthum and Assistant Professor Dr. Watcharee Srikham, lecturers in the Faculty of Liberal Arts, were considered by the Department of Cultural Promotion in the Ministry of Culture, as translators under a project named “ASEAN Literature Translation”. Associate Professor Dr. Chanchai Khongphianthum translated a Khmer work entitled “Nai Ngao Meud” (The Shadow) and Assistant Professor Dr. Watcharee Srikham translated a Lao work entitled “Nitan Puenban Paomong Kampa Aenong” (Hmong Folktale Orphan and Birds). 
 
Associate Professor Dr. Chanchai  Khongphianthum stated that this was a great honor and the university is proud of the opportunity to provide translators for these stories from Khmer to Thai. These translators were considered as experts for this project and nine had applied for this Khmer literature translation opportunity. 
 
Assistant Professor Dr. Watcharee Srikham noted that she was also proud and honored for the decision by the Department of Cultural Promotion to give her this opportunity. Eight candidates had applied for this task. On this occasion, UBU would like to congratulate these two lecturers who have enhanced the reputation of the university.
