On 18 May 2019, Assistant Professor Dr. Adun Janyalertadun, Acting Vice President for Administration, along with UBU staff, and students participated in the Visakha Puja Day at Wat Maneewanaram, Ubon Ratchathani. The event was carried out by Mr. Sarit Witoon, the Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province. The event consisted of a religious ceremony and community service activities named, Big Cleaning Day.

At the event, the participants listened to monks’ chanting and then made merit by offering food to the monks. Afterwards, they cleaned the Wat. For this activity, Ms. Charuayporn Santhaweesuk, Acting Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, encouraged UBU students to join in and get involved.

Visakha Puja Day is one of the greatest Buddhist events that falls on the 15th day of the waxing moon or the full moon in the 6th lunar calendar. The event is highly significant as it is a celebration to commemorate Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and death.

UBU sees the importance of cultural conservation. Therefore, UBU will continue to get involved and participate in community-centered activities to further serve UBU’s mission to the best of its capacity.
