On 13 May 2019, Assistant Professor Dr. Chalermchai Wongrak, the assistant to the President for International Relations, Mr. Kanpetch Chaitawib, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at UBU, and Dr. Titipol Phakdeewanich, the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at UBU, welcomed Mr. Nuankhamsay Vongphet, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, staff, and 6 students from Champasak University for their participation with the 2019 UBU-ASEAN Student Exchange Program. The program was held from 12 May 2019 to 18 May 2019 at UBU.  The main objectives of the program were to strengthen legal knowledge between students of the two universities and to continuously develop a long term relationship between the two institutions.

This year, UBU law students, who were led by Mr. Pholsak Nonpala, the chairman of the Law students club, prepared a buddy program that allowed UBU law students to help facilitate and take care of the exchange students from Laos throughout the exchange period.

Mr. Kanpetch Chaitawib delivered a speech expressing the importance of the educational management within the ASEAN countries. He believes that it is a key factor of sustainable development for the countries involved. Legal education is one of the essential issues to be concerned about among the ASEAN countries in order to promote the understanding and perception of international legal knowledge. The Faculty of Law at UBU and the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Champasak University continuously organize an exchange program every year. It is believed that the programs can help promote and strengthen educational issues within and beyond the two universities. Additionally, the program also further creates a stronger relationshipbetween Thailand and Laos and promotes more understanding between its people.
