On 27 May 2019, the Office of Internal Audit at UBU, organized the event titled UBU Says No to Corruption. The event was held at U-Place Hotel, Ubon Ratchathani University.
Before the event started, UBU executive board members and staff expressed their deepest condolences on the passing of H.E. General Prem Tinsulanonda,Statesman and President of the Privy Council, by standing in silence.
Afterwards, Assistant Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, the President of UBU, led her fellow UBU executive board members and staff in declaring their intentions to work without corruption. The purposes of the declaration event were to show UBU’s commitment to operate under the university’s mission and activities honestly, uprightly and transparently, to increase UBU members’ recognition and awareness, and to promotepeople’ participation on anti-corruption activities in government sectors. These objectives will enable the university to drive its anti-corruption strategy efficiently and effectively.
At this special occasion, UBU invited Mr. Supachai Chaihong, Director of Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (ONAC)-Ubon Ratchathani, to witness the declaration activity and to give a special speech on “Administration and Performance with Honesty, Upright, Transparency,and Verifiability based-on the Good Governance Model.”
Assistant Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha revealed that the UBU Says No to Corruption event was officially approved by the 6/2019 UBU executive board meeting which was held on 6 May 2019. This event is a part of activities that will serve the 20-years national strategy (2018-2037), which is aimed to reduce corruption in government sectors, to promote good governance and participation of the people, and to follow the sufficiency economy philosophy. UBU is allowing all stakeholders to get involved in its operation. People will be able to access toits information and data conveniently, accurately, and completely.UBU runs its operation strictly based on the standard, law, and rules from the cabinet resolutions. UBU will listen to its stakeholders’ opinions and work responsibly in order to promote the reliability of the university.
