UBU organized a traditional greeting ceremony for its freshmen.

On 22 June 2019, the UBU Student Union organized a traditional greeting ceremony for UBU freshmen of 2019. For this year, there are about 4,000 students including undergraduate and graduate students who enrolled to study at UBU.

Professor. Dr. Chomchin Chantaraskul, Chairman of UBU Council, delivered his congratulations speech to the students while Mr. Chalermpon Mangkang, Vice Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, gave a welcome speech to the freshmen. 

In this special ceremony, UBU executive board members by the lead of Assistant Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, President, lecturers, and staff participated in the event.

The ceremony called “Bai Sri Su Kwan” is organized annually to welcome freshmen. The event involved the calling of spirits by “Mo Khawn” as the leader of the ceremony. Additionally, white cotton strings were tied around each other’s wrists while goodwill and blessings were expressed to the students, faculty, and staff. The event aimed to express a warm welcome to the freshmen from Ubon Ratchathani Province from a representative of the provincial governor and all UBU members. Together, they celebrated the freshmen’s success on being selected to enroll as UBU university students and blessed them with a ceremonial tradition for good luck.
