UBU Rubber Technology and Polymer Students Won Prizes from the 2019 Rubber and Rubber Tree Products Competition- southern part of Northeast region

On 10 June 2019, the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT), organized the 2019 Rubber and Rubber Tree Products Competition- southern part of Northeast region. The event was held at RAOT-Northeast Region in Buriram Province. RAOT welcomed interested participants and students to compete in the event. The competition was divided into two categories. The first category was Local Premium (pillows), which allowed competitors to create rubber products that reflected the uniqueness of their local communities through art and culture.  The second category was Creative Rubber Tree Products, where the design and functions of the products were to be emphasized.

On this occasion, UBU Rubber Technology and Polymer Students won two awards under the Local Premium category as follows:

  1. The 1st place winners

The product named Health Pillow. The members of this team were Ms.Kanyarat Phrommanok, Ms. Sopha Arngkhamhong, Ms. Rattanakorn Dorkmai, Ms. Suwanna Worakhat, Ms. Ketmanee Lapa, Ms, Ubonrak Pilakun, Mr. Adisak Paikapaid and Mr. Thanapon Chinhad. They received 30,000 baht as the award. Moreover, they qualified to attend the national competition round.

  1. The 2nd runner-up winners

The product named Ban Khok Rawiang Pillow, a V-shape pillow.

The members of this team were Mr. Channarong Sailun, Ms.  Nanthanut Senawong, Ms. Neeranood Anenudorn, Ms. Phuttharat Nuanphakdi, and Ms. Onanong Puangpan. By creating this product, they were supported by and cooperated with Khok Rawiang Community Enterprise. They were awarded 10,000 baht and a certificates. 

UBU, as a local university, aims to serve our neighboring communities and to never stop improving the quality of life for our people. Rubber farmers, in particular, is a group of people who UBU takes into consideration for strengthening the quality of their lives. Regarding this, UBU has organized many workshops for rubber farmers and has conducted many research projects related the development of rubber industries.  Furthermore, the success of our students during this competition and in many other aspects can guarantee the quality of our curriculum and our hard work on rubber development that will lead to the development of the people in the future.
