UBU’s Green Club organized the Plogging Run event and earned a silver medal award

UBU’s Green Cluborganized a voluntary activity called the Plogging Run on 14 August 2019. The Plogging Run event consisted of two different activities completed at the same time: jogging and picking up waste. This type of event has become quite popular and trendy among many people since participants of the event can both improve their health and clean up the environment simultaneously.

Moreover, UBU’s Green Club received a silver medal award from the 2018 National Green Youth Award presented by the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The award was presented by Dr. Wijarn Simachaya, Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment at TK Palace Hotel & Convention, Bangkok on 7 August 2019. From the competition, students gained notable knowledge on how to preserve and protect the environment.  Therefore, they naturally applied this gained knowledge at UBU by organizing the Plogging Run to promote more awareness on how to save the environment.

During the Plogging Run, Assistant Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, UBU’s President, presided over the event. The event was held around UBU’s academic area and the running distance was 3 to5 kilometers. There was a total of 300 UBU students who participated in the event. They collected waste amounting to approximately 50 kilograms.
