UBU welcomes representatives from Chengdu University, PR. China and Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Coordination Center for Thai - Sino Academic and Cultural Exchange Promotion

On 23 August 2019, Dr. Thitidaj Luetrakul, Vice President for Planning and Quality Organization Improving, and Assistant Professor Dr. Chalermchai Wongrak, Assistant to the President for International Relations and Education, along with representatives from the Faculty of Liberal Arts, the Faculty of Management Science, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Faculty of Applied Arts and Architecture welcomed Professor Chaphiporn Kiatkachatharn, Chief Division of Sino-Thai Cooperation Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Chengdu University, China, and Dr. Chadaporn Tangwancharoen and Assistant Professor Dr. Sappasiri Songsukrujiroad, representatives from Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Coordination Center for Thai - Sino Academic and Cultural Exchange Promotion. The welcoming event was held at the Boontrarik Meeting Room, the Office of the President Building.

Ubon Ratchathani Province officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chengdu city, Sichuan Province to be a Sister City on 1 August 2019. The collaborative activities covered trading and investment, tourism, and education. As a part of this agreement, UBU was selected to develop cooperative academic activities with Chengdu University.

On this special occasion, Chengdu University has offered two full scholarships to UBU students to complete a master’s degree in Studio Design. This marks the beginning of many more collaborations in the future as UBU and Chengdu University has both agreed to develop more collaborative activities to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions.
