On 16 October 2019, the Faculty of Agriculture at UBU was led by Dr. Narintorn Boonbrahm, Dean, to present rice seeds and homegrown plants to flood victim representatives. The representatives came from Hua Don Sub-district, Bung Mai Sub-district and Nong Bo Sub-district, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The official presentation took place at the faculty’s experimental field.

Dr. Narintorn Boonbrahm said that the faculty has been working diligently to provide recovery assistance to farmers who suffered from the flood in September. The faculty has prepared approximately 12,000 seedings of chili, eggplant, sweet basil, basil, lime, papaya, zucchini, yard long bean, dill, and Cantonese morning glory to distribute.

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Boonsong Ekpong, lecturer at the Department of Horticulture, added that there was a large number of farmers requesting assistance from the faculty to provide seedlings for the next planting season. This was due to the unfortunate damage caused by the flood in multiple areas. The faculty gave the farmers700 kilograms of Kalasin sticky rice, which can be used for up to 100 rai. Additionally, the faculty has prepared seedlings for all interested peoples in affected areas as they would like to help our neighbors in need. For more details on how to receive the seedlings, please contact the Faculty of Agriculture during their regular working days of Monday to Friday.
