UBU welcomes Mr. Shigeki Kobayashi, Counsellor of Embassy of Japan, to Thailand to co-host the 14th Japan Education Fair

On 18 November 2019, UBU was delighted to welcome Mr. Shigeki Kobayashi, Counsellor of Embassy of Japan, to Thailand together with Mr. Masaharu Kuba, First-secretary of Embassy of Japan, and representatives from universities in Japan on their visit to UBU. The Office of International Relations Office (IR) arranged transportation to meet all honorable guests at Ubon Ratchathani Airport. While traveling from the airport to UBU, IR provided all delegates a brief overview of Ubon Ratchathani Province and what it has to offer. Then, IR took them on a campus tour to learn more about UBU. Afterward, the delegates had an official meeting with UBU administrators and faculty members in Dok Jan 4 Meeting Room, the Faculty of Liberal Arts from 11 am to noon. The representatives from UBU included Assistant Professor Dr. Chalermchai Wongrak, Assistant to the President for International Relationsand Education, Assistant Professor Dr.Surasak Khamkhong, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Associate Professor Dr.Roongrasamee Boondao, Dean of Business School, Assistant Professor Dr.Charida Pukahuta, Dean of the Faculty of Science, together with Japanese lecturers from the Department of Japanese and Communication at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and IR staff.

Later this day, representatives from the Embassy of Japan and IR co-organized the 14th Japan Education Fair at U-Place Hotel, UBU. The event was held from 1.30 to 15.30 pm. There were 277 participants which consisted of high school students, UBU students and staff members. At the event, the representatives from the Embassy of Japan conducted a special talk on the educational system in Japan and available scholarships. Additionally, the participants had opportunities to ask in-depth questions with representatives from 6 universities in Japan. The participating universities were Kyoto University, Tokai University, Nagoya University, Fukui University of Technology, Kansai University and Hokkaido University.

UBU is honored to welcome the representatives from the Embassy of Japan and the 6- Japanese universities. With their visit, the cooperation between UBU and Japan, through the Embassy of Japan, was strengthened. Additionally, it helped expand academic collaboration with new universities in Japan.
