Three months ago on 10 August 2019, the Faculty of Agriculture completed a creative hazing ritual for their 2019 freshmen class. They encouraged all students to plant rice trees on the faculty’s experimental fields. Now that it’s harvest season, on 17 November 2019, the faculty hosted a follow-up activity to harvest the rice. Mr. Narintorn Boonbrahm, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, led approximately 300 students in this community and service based activity. Moreover, Ms. Charuayporn Santhaweesuk, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, notably donated equipment that was essential for the harvest. She also led representatives from other UBU faculties who joined the event.

With everyone’s help, the faculty and their volunteers produced up to 60 sacks (about 1,600 kilograms) of rice seeds this year. The rice products will mainly be used to support students’ activities. One of the events will be the faculty’s Congratulation’s Day event which will be held from 8-11 December 2019. They will ceremonially celebrate their faculty’s graduates.

In addition to the rice products that were gained, UBU staff and students have gained more love and unity amongst themselves. This event has surely strengthened the UBU community’s relationships.
