The Faculty of Science at UBU organized a workshop on “The Design ofE-Portfoliofor TCASby Using a Smartphone”on 19 November 2019 at Tessban 1 (Phoklang) School, Phibun Mangsahan District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The participants of the workshop were grade-12 students who are preparing for university admissions though the TCAS system.The workshop was officially opened by Mr. Niphon Tanyaphattaranon, Director of Tessban 1 (Phoklang) School. The workshop aimed to enable students to create their own E-Portfolio by using an application on their smartphones, and to promote computer and information technology skills which serve the Thailand 4.0 model. Dr. Sompong Valuvanathorn, Deputy Head of the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer together with Mr. Thawatchai Salangsing, lecturer at the Faculty of Science, taught the students tips and techniques on how to create an effective E-portfolio.
To date, the faculty has done many projects to promote technology and computer skills to high school students. In 2019, more than 1,000 students were trained on E-Portfolio design. The faculty will continue to organize more workshops to provide further opportunities for students to enhance their technology skills to live comfortably within the 21st century.
