UBU Rubber and Polymer Technology Students Wins First Prize in the 2019 National Rubber and Rubber Wood Product Contest

Earlier this year in June, the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) organized the 2019 National Rubber and Rubber Wood Product Contest. They held a qualifying round for the Northeast Region. Two teams from UBU successfully passed this round for their products the Health Pillow and the Ban Kok Rawaiang Pillow.

From 11-12 September 2019, the final round was officially held at Kaewsamui Resort in Surat Thani Province. As a result, UBU is pleased to congratulate Ms.Kanyarat Phrommanok, Ms. Sopha Arngkhamhong, Ms. Rattanakorn Dorkmai, Ms. Suwanna Worakhat, Ms. Ketmanee Lapa, Ms, Ubonrak Pilakun, Mr. Adisak Paikapaid and Mr. Thanapon Chinhad for winning first prize! These students yield from the Rubber and Polymer Technology major, Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, UBU. They received a trophy along with a grand prize of 50,000 baht. Furthermore, their product, the Health Pillow, which was identified in the Local Premium category, was selected to be shown at the Thailand Rubber Expo 2019. This event is to be held from 29 November to 1 December at the IMPACT Arena in Muang Thong Thani.

UBU is extremely proud of all of the students who participated in the competition and thanks the lecturers who helped prepare the students to succeed. UBU students’ success demonstrates the quality of the curriculum provided in the Rubber and Polymer Technology program and its commitment to providing skillful students. These students are diligently trained to help drive the economy for rubber farmers to increase the values of their product and develop the national rubber industry.

All in all, UBU extends a huge congratulations to the students who placed first and hopes that students continue to work hard to improve life quality for all.
