UBU is working towards becoming a digital university

Digital transformation is the process of using digital technologies to create or improve the culture, operations or experiences of an organization. Several higher education institutions around the world are steadily making improvements within their universities to accommodate the digital age. As an academic community, UBU is committed to working towards becoming a digital university that strictly complies by the relevant digital acts and laws. Some of the laws to adhere to are the Computer Crime Acts, Cyber Security Act, and Personal Data Protection Act. Given this, the Office of Computer and Networking (OCN) at UBU organized a workshop to help spread awareness and share information on Digital Laws. The workshop was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, President and was held at the Office of Computer and Networking on 6 March 2020.  The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Boonlert Aroonpiboon, Director of Science and Technology Knowledge Services (STKS), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). The participants of the workshop consisted of administrative board members, lecturers, faculty and staff from around UBU.  

Assistant Professor Dr. Atipong Suriya, Director of Office of Computer Network and Acting Director of Office of Academic Resources, said the workshop was organized under the OCN’s 2020 Annual Action Plan. Furthermore, in addition to spreading awareness and sharing information on digital laws, the workshop aimed to help support personnel prepare for any changes that are to occur as the university work towards becoming a digital university. UBU also wants to ensure that the community knows how to protect their personal online information from potential anonymous users such as hackers and to restrict the act of any illegal activities that does not comply with the relevant acts and laws. 

This workshop serves as one of the serval activities that UBU is conducting to follow the university’s strategies to become a digital university and the national strategy of Digital Thailand.

UBU hopes to be an efficient digital university that effectively serves our community for its quality educational needs.
