UBU organized the Twenty-Second Young Scientists Competition: YSC 2020

On 30 January 2020, the Faculty of Science at UBU organized the Twenty-SecondYoung Scientists Competition- the regional round at U-Place Hotel, UBU. Dr. Surasit Sutthikumpa, Associate Dean for Research and Academic Services and Head of YSC-Northeastern Regional Collaboration Center at UBU honorably expressed a welcome speech to all participants. Teachers and students from high schools located in the Northeast of Thailand submitted their projects to the competition. The judges consisted of experts from the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA).The awards were presented by Ms. Atiporn Suwan, representative of NSTDA.

On this special occasion, Ms. Atiporn Suwan delivered a speech to the candidates of the competition.Firstly, she congratulated them. Then, she encouraged each student to utilize the  knowledge and experiences they gain from the competition to create more groundbreaking works related to science, technology and innovation in the future.

After the judges deliberated on their decisions, a total of 9 projects/teams were selected to advance to the final round of the competition. Each team was also rewarded with a 9,000 baht prize along with certificates. Furthermore, 8 projects/teams qualified for 1st runner-up. They all received a 7,000 baht prize along with certificates.

The final round of the competition will be held during 4-6 March 2020 atthe Fashion Island Shopping Center in Bangkok.

UBU congratulates all of the students who both participated and advanced to the next round and wishes them the best of luck on their journey. UBU also sincerely thanks all participants for their attendance and collaboration. UBU is looking forward to welcoming more staff and students in future scientific competition events.
