The purpose was to give the UBU-UVC: Smart Germicidal Irradiation Machine created by the UBU research team to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Ubon Ratchathani Province as a device to eliminate or kill bacteria including the Covid-19 virus.
Dr. Anirut Suebsing, Assistant Director of Ubon Ratchathani University Science Park, reported that the machine contains high technological equipment that can effectively kill bacteria from the Covid-19 virus. Furthermore, the safety of users was heavily considered when developing the machine. For instance, the UVC generates an invisible light that helps users avoid direct exposure to the UVC light and Internet of Things (IoT) technology was used to remotely control the operation of the machine. As part of the first batch, only six units were initially produced and given to hospitals within Ubon Ratchathani Province and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Ubon Ratchathani Province to help control the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus. The UBU research team plans to develop more machines and distribute it to additional locations that may benefit from its operations.
On this occasion, Mr. Sarit Witoon expressed hisappreciation and thanks to UBU and all individuals involved in this effort.
