It was reported that the number of dogs living on UBU campus has constantly increased resulting in a low quality of their health and livelihood as well the quality of life for members of the UBU community who are annoyed at dog barks. Moreover, dogs can cause road accidents and problems with hygiene within the university. Therefore, the UBU Office of Physical and Environmental Management and Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Livestock co-organized a forum to hold a discussion on how to control the population of dogs on campus and how to properly vaccinate them. The forum was held at the Central Learning Building 4 (CLB4) on 24 March 2020. From the forum, a dog population control project was organized. The project includes sterilization, vaccination against rabies and dog house building. The project is divided into 6 phases. The first phase was launched on 22 May 2020. On that day, Dr. Supot Roschan, Veterinary Medicine, Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Livestock, and his colleagues went to UBU to record the numbers of the dog population, provide vaccinations and parasite control, and heal sick dogs.
