Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn confers degree certificates to the UBU graduates of Academic Year 2019

On Wednesday December 16, 2020, His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, King Rama X, assigned Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to confer degree certificates to graduates of Ubon Ratchathani university (UBU) for the academic year 2019 (the 29th assemblage) at the 7th Cycle of the King’s Birthday Convention Hall, UBU. 
 
At 9.00 o’clock,  His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, King Rama X, assigned Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to confer degree certificates to graduates of Ubon Ratchathani university (UBU) for the academic year 2019 (the 29th assemblage) at the 7th Cycle of the King’s Birthday Convention Hall, UBU, Ubon Ratchathani. This year, recipients of degree certificates included 2,704 bachelor, 77 master, and 20 doctoral graduates, totaling 2,801 graduates. On this occasion, the UBU council approved an honorary doctoral degree in Government for the academic year 2019 to Mrs. Aungkana Neelapaijit whose outstanding work, involved devoting herself to support and teach political science.The two Ratthanobon Awards were for Provost Wimonpan Ya Kun (Noppon Susen), whose outstanding work in solar energy and devotion to science and the nation, and Mr. Piyatat Tatsaniyom whose outstanding work in science, served to benefit society and educate UBU students and the nation, along with his devotion to the farmers and the quality of life in society. 
 
Next, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn gave the following speech to the graduates: All graduates should be determined to utilize your educational success to vacation and live. Also, I would like to emphasize the knowledge applied. Knowledge should be vigorously utilized, you need to understand the principles and theorems completely first. Then, you practice based on the theory until you become proficient. 
 
Meanwhile you need to consider how you can apply the knowledge to be accurate (error-free), incorruptible, and appropriate to the time, situation, work, people including other factors. Also, I would like all graduates to consider carefully which knowledge applying must consist of perfect theory, proficiency, and reliable consideration. These things are necessary in order for everyone to practice and develop themselves to meet specified qualifications perfectly for applying the complete and useful knowledge. 
 
This year, Assistant Professor Dr. Chutinun Prasitpuriprecha, the UBU President, offered a silk “Pha Kabbua Jogdao” which involves the Ubon Ratchathani identity and is registered as a national and intangible cultural heritage. Associate Professor Sommai Chinnak, Lecturer from the Faculty of Liberal Arts offered three research books: 1) Common Cultural Heritage in Mekong Region and 2) Living, Adapting, Transnational Society Relations Network and 3) Role as Culture Ambassador of  Transnational Cambodian’s Student-Monks in Thailand, and Ming Ka La Ba at Ubon: Transnational Community of Burmese Labor which is Located far from the Nation State. Mr. Saksith Sripa, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences offered a book; Rational Drug Use in Geriatric Patients. Assistant Professor Sittichai Samanchat, a Lecturer from the Faculty of Applied Arts and Architecture proffered his book: Isan Intangible Textiles and Provost Wimonpan Ya Kun (Noppon Susen), approved for a Ratthanobon Award, offered book named “Rong Rean Sia Dai Dad”. 
 
Ubon Ratchathani University (UBU) has been a university for the past 30 years. There are 88 programs, and 15,666 students. UBU has a mission to produce graduates with quality standards toward academic and professional excellence including knowledge and innovative creation who are able to apply these through collaborative academic services to people living in the developing Northeast (Isan) and Mekong region. Moreover, UBU intends to maintain the local wisdom cultures, promote global understanding of cultural diversity in the Mekong region moving towards a topflight university in ASEAN that seeks to improve the quality of life and innovation under the UBU philosophy “Ubon Ratchathani University Supports Intelligence and Knowledge for Society based on Self-Sufficiency”
