Specific Requirements: Faculty of Engineering (Ph.D.)

Doctoral Degree Programs

Doctor of Philosophy (Civil Engineering)

Education type/plan: Type 1.1
Teaching dates: Monday - Sunday
Tuition fee (including international student fee): 43,500 THB
Duration of study: 3 years, but not more than 6 years
Assessment criteria for applicants: Interview
 
Curriculum Structure:
Type 1.1
  • Specific subjects (non-credit, 7 credits)
  • Thesis (48 credits)
Admission Requirements:
Type 1.1
  1. Hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or other related fields, with a GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.00 scale. Applicants with a GPA lower than 3.25 must have at least two years of work experience in fields related to Civil Engineering.
  2. Meet the English language proficiency requirements as specified by the University
  3. Fulfill any additional eligibility requirements determined by the respective Program Committee
Possible careers after graduation:
  • A business owner in construction contracting or civil engineering consultancy
  • A civil engineer
  • A construction planner and administrator
  • A construction project manager
  • A construction project risk assessment officer
  • A construction supervisor
  • A government officer working in civil engineering (e.g., Department of Highways, Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, Royal Irrigation Department, Department of Provincial Administration, or Local Administrative Organizations)

Doctor of Philosophy (Electrical Engineering)

Education type/plan: Type 1.1
Teaching dates: Monday - Sunday
Tuition fee (including international student fee): 43,500 THB
Duration of study: 3 years, but not more than 6 years
Assessment criteria for applicants: Examination and interview

Admission Requirements:

  1. Hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or other related fields, with a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale. Applicants with a GPA lower than 3.50 must have at least two years of work experience in government or private sector and be approved for a research topic by the Interview Committee.
  2. Meet the English language proficiency requirements as specified by the University
  3. Fulfill any additional eligibility requirements determined by the respective Program Committee
Possible careers after graduation:
  • A researcher in related fields within both the public and private sectors
  • An academic or lecturer in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, biomedical engineering, or other related fields
  • An electrical engineer
  • An electrical engineering consultant or electrical engineering specialist

Doctor of Philosophy (Environmental Engineering)

  1. Hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Environmental Engineering or other related fields, with a GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.00 scale. Applicants with a GPA lower than 3.25 must have at least one year of work experience in related fields or research experience.

  1. Hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering or other related fields. Applicants with a degree in an unrelated field must have at least three years of professional work experience in Industrial Engineering.
  2. Meet other qualifications as follows:
    • Possess a record of good conduct and moral integrity.
    • No prior criminal record, except for minor offenses or negligence.
  3. Meet the English language proficiency requirements as specified by the University
  4. Fulfill any additional eligibility requirements determined by the respective Program Committee
